The 4th annual York Elks Lodge Home Run Derby was held on September 8th in conjunction with the Yorkfest celebration. York College Baseball and Softball teams held an hour clinic for kids ages 5-14 where kids were able to perform hitting and fielding drills. Following the clinic the college teams along with York Fusion and York Knight Baseball parents assisted in the Home Run Derby. The York Elks Lodge sponsored the event by providing free lunch for all participants and awards for the winners. With the help of the Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant, over $1500 worth of equipment was donated to local youth, whose families could not afford gloves and other equipment to play baseball and softball this year.
York Elks Lodge in partnership with York College Baseball and Softball teams held a free lunch, free clinics, and home run derby at Miller Park on Saturday, September 9th. With the help of the Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant, over $1500 worth of equipment will be donated to local youth, whose families cannot afford gloves and other equipment to play baseball and softball.
